Grappling Competition Success.

| Sunday 6th December saw UTC team members enter a grappling competition for the first time and what a day we had. Firstly a big thank you to Scott for organizing and getting us involved in this competition and secondly congratulations to all the guys that entered and competed Rad, Fran, Vaughan, Leon, Sam, Farid, Lee and Yanic you did UTC and yourself proud. Mark Hardwick commented "This was a great day for us at UTC, all of the lads battled really hard and they all managed to get wins under there belts over some very well established grappling teams and to win so many medals 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze was just fantastic. With competing against so many specialised grappling teams that there main focus is ground fighting and competing specifically in these types of competitions makes the victories we achieved all the more sweeter, as we at UTC have to dedicate our training times towards so many different disciplines in MMA which includes stand up, ground fighting, wrestling, strength conditioning training etc. We have to remember that it was our first outing as a grappling team and some of the lads had never competed in any type of competition before, it was pleasing to see that all the instructions given by Myself and Vaughan were taken on board and we were able to help the fighters secure so many victories on the day. I have coached and cornered hundreds of fighters over my time and I have to say that one or two of the wins which we achieved on Sunday were outstanding, when you take into consideration the limited amount of time that we have trained together on the mat, it was just brilliant.
